Recipe for "Ayam Goreng Sweet Sour (Simple Version)"

Ingredients

Tomatoes 1
Capsicum / Bell Peppers 1
Large Chilli 1
Large Onion 1
Chicken A few pieces
Salt And Pepper -
Ginger Slices 2 cm
Chilli And Tomato Sauce -
Corn Flour To Coat Chicken -
Shallots And Onions To Sautee -
Tumeric Powder To Coat Chicken -

Instructions

1

Firstly, clean the chicken pieces. when chicken is rid off excess water, coat chicken with salt, tumeric powder and corn flour. set aside.

*corn flour is added to give some crust on chicken.
*you can coat chicken pieces with some pepper powder too.

2

Slice up the tomatoes, capsicums, large onion, chillies in cubes or anyway you prefer.

also slice some ginger into strips. the ginger will be added after the shallots and onions have sauteed. if you dont like ginger, you may of course, leave this step / ingredient out.

3

Now, fry the chicken pieces. when this is the done, slow the heat of your stove and set aside the fried chicken pieces.

4

You may increase the heat of the fire. but be warned that the oil from the chicken pieces is readily hot and you may risk burning your onions for sauteing.
you may also remove excess oil from when frying the chicken pieces at this point
now add in the onions for sauteing. let it cook till fragrant. next, add in the ginger. a minute or two later, throw in generous amounts of chilli sauce and tomato sauce. cook for a while. i usually decrease the fire intensity here because i like to see the oil surface on the sauce.
let it simmer and then i add in all the remaining complements (tomatoes etc)
be sure to taste at this point. do you prefer it spicy or sweet and sour? adjustments can be made here with some dash of salt and sugar.

stir in the chicken pieces until all is coated.

serve.
