1/4 teaspoon | salt |
1 1/2 cup | all-purpose flour |
60g | bran powder |
1 teaspoon | vanilla extract |
1 teaspoon | baking powder |
60 ml | vegetable oil (eg. canola oil) |
With electric mixer,beat in flour, bran powder, 2 tablespoon of granulated sugar, salt, baking powder and orange zest until well combine.
Make a well in the center, beat in egg yolk, orange juice, oil and vanilla extract until smooth.

In separate bowl, beat at high speed egg white little by little with the remaining granulated sugar and cream of tartar until soft peak forms.

With a large rubber spatula, gently fold the egg whites mixture into the first batter just until blended (being careful not to over-mix the batter).

Pour the batter into the greased cake pan.

Bake for about 45 to 50 minutes in preheated oven at 170 degrees C or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
