Eggless Chocolate Sponge Cake

Velvety moist chocolate sponge. Easy to make with the basic ingredients you always have in the store cupboard.

Ingredients

200g plain flour
200g caster sugar
2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
75g cocoa powder
200ml warm water
2 tbsp lemon juice
125ml sunflower oil
1/2 teaspoon essence vanilla

Pre heat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Mix all ingredients together and stir well until the batter well combinate.

Pour into greased baking tin. The mixture should be 2cm deep.

Bake for 25 minutes. When cooked leave in tin for 5 minutes, then turn out onto cooling rack.
